Somehow this didn't get posted on Valentines Day :( Oh well...
I wasn't home for Valentine's Day this year. So instead, we celebrated like Friday was Valentines Day and I drove to Raleigh to see the girls that afternoon. Jack and Ella were excited to get Valentine's Day cards in the mail. Jack loves getting any kind of mail.
I really enjoy Valentine's Day. It's one of, if not the, finally winter "holiday" and it's fun to decorate for. So we put hearts everywhere. This year, Libbye backed a pink heart cake with the kids. They went to the grocery store to pick out all the items and Libbye said Jack seemed to know exactly what he was doing, picking out icing and candies to decorate. So fun! I love how the cake turned out. I hope it can become an annual tradition. I really enjoyed making Valentine's for Jack's classmates last year, but thankfully, he's not in daycare so we didn't have the need to this year.
Jack and Ella were both excited to see the decorations when they woke up.
We had a fun morning and played all day!
Then I was off to see my girls! We had a great weekend and it was certainly a treat to be with them. I am so grateful to Justin, my mom, and John for entertaining the babies while I was away. How is there a picture with me in the middle?!? How exciting!! Look how Lainey has grown!
A few more pictures of the kids. Libby takes Jack and Ella to feed the geese at a nearby neighborhood. Kevin joins them a good bit. Jack is brave, those geese come right up demanding food!
Here they are playing at the park. Jack loves the sand box. Ella got a turn at the car too.
Ella is getting around great! She even got in the playground at Chickfila. She is fearless. She followed Jack all the way up and peaked through the plastic windows at me.
She was really loving life...that is until, she encountered the slide! Duh, duh, duh!
A brief recap...that face! :(
During the winter, there isn't much to do besides play at indoor playgrounds and go to Target. It has become a habit of ours. There are fun hats though!
As the days start to warm up a bit, we've started grilling more outside. Jack loves to help daddy grill!
Jack will look to see what Justin is doing and copy him, turning corn, opening and shutting the grill, etc. Sometimes Justin will have timers set for the meat, and he'll announce, "okay Jack, time to flip." and they both go to it. Dinner is always delicious!
This fun girl still loves her baths.
And...probably the cutest thing ever...she tried her first lemon! Look at that face! I almost felt guilty...almost :)
"MOM!?! What is this?!?"
"I can't! Can't even deal! *Pucker* *Pucker* Mom! Stop taking pictures!"
We have a few play hats to which she has recently learned how to don and off. Really cute!
Movie night with my man. We watched horrible bosses two. I hear the reviews were not great, but Prosecco makes everything a riot. We really enjoyed it.
Why are we such dorks?
Look at those baby buns! And those pig tails! I can't deal with the cuteness. I am so happy this girl as such pretty hair I can play with!
Again, have you ever seen such cute piggy tails?!?
Riding the train at the mall. Cindy Lou Who!
Hope everyone had a love filled Valentines Day! Spring is just around the corner! XOXO
