The last few days have been big for my baby girl! On Friday, 10/25/14, she said her first word!! Drum roll........MAMA! I couldn't have been happier to hear that sweet name on those sweet lips! We were in the living room playing before Justin got home and I got up to get something out of the kitchen and she started to protest a little, fussing, and then, all of a sudden, that MMMMM turned Mama, mama. AHHHH! I wasn't sure that it could be considered official, until later that evening when we were packing to go to Aiken for Pop's birthday, Justin was holding Ella and I walked away, and she said it again! Calling her mama. Isn't that precious?!? Justin said, "Did you hear that?" I sure did. It's official! Jack said Dada first, on Justin's 30th birthday, so it's only fitting that my girl say mama first. I'm still on cloud nine :)
So on the tails of her first word, you can imagine how surprised I was when I tried to feed her hummus this afternoon, and she chomps down on my finger and, "OUCH! There's something in there! A TOOTH!!!" My baby girl cut her first tooth today! I checked this weekend and it wasn't there. It's barely poking through the gum and sharp as a puppy tooth. What a big girl! I didn't even see it coming! She hasn't been fussy or waking at night, her stools have been okay, not super acidic, but sure enough, teething! I can't believe it! Jack didn't teeth until he was 10 months old! I thought I had a few more months to prepare myself. Slow down Ella girl!
I am just so proud of my little princess. She has the sweetest little chuckle when you get her going. She is very ticklish under her arms, on her sides, and her chubby thighs.
Words fail to describe how elated I have been to have a little girl to love and snuggle and dress and teach and play with. These last seven months have been so wonderful.
Justin is just as infatuated with her too. And don't get me started on big brother Jack. He is so proud of being a big brother. He showers her with smooches and hugs. He brings her toys and pacifiers, without being prompted. Tonight, he knew I was about to take her to put her to bed, and he said, "Bye!" and puckered up to kiss her. I leaned her over for him to kiss her and she squealed with excitement. She just loves Jack. He makes her laugh all the time, they are a good source of entertainment for one another. Just a perfect little match.
I can't slow her down from growing up and she seems to be going at a faster pace that even her brother did (warp speed)! I may not be able to blog about everything, but I absolutely relish in all the riches motherhood has given me so far. The "mama's" and kisses and playtime and even poopy bathwater. Yes...sweet princess is notorious for it..."Evacuation! Poop in the water!" is something frequently shouted in this house. Justin comes tearing through the house with towels, grabbing kids out of the water, all while Jack has this horrified look on his face. I almost die laughing every time. Sorry to share such but I have to write it down! Don't want to forget something so funny!
