Looking back...5 years later

Justin and I look at one another often and ask, "How did this happen? When did we become parents of two? When did we build a house? When did we turn 30?!?" It seems like life is traveling at the speed of light these days. On Friday, we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary. My folks came into town to watch Jack and Ella and we were finally able to make good on that Halls gift card that Sherry bought me for my 30th birthday (a year a half ago). Lucky for us, they don't expire. :)

We got all fancied up and went out for a night on the town. It was so great! Driving out of the neighborhood, we giggled, we were so excited! Justin and I haven't been out by ourselves in such a long time! Halls was totally worth the year a half wait! It NEVER disappoints. The owner greeted us when we walked in and once they learned we were celebrating five years and a new baby, we got champagne (crazy good tasting champagne) and dessert. The food...oh, the food! Amazing! Seriously, nothing could taste bad there. Justin and I joked that the pictures on the wall probably tasted good, the chairs we were sitting probably did too. I got she crab soup for a start, scallops over vegetable risotto, creamed corn and fried asparagus for sides, and Justin got a filet with some sort of sauce. Honestly, honestly, best meal I've ever eaten! I remember it being the same last time we ate there.

But, even better than the food, was the company. Justin and I were relaxed and talked about everything. That dinner and time together was the perfect culmination of the last five years together (11 if you include dating). We talking about us at Clemson, living in Greenville, the day we got married, our favorite moments of the last five years, relived the trip to Europe, and becoming parents. It was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better date. The best date I've ever been on :)

I remember praying to God as a girl, asking that he send me a husband that was handsome and sweet. Well, he really outdid himself with Justin. I couldn't have even imagined that a man as great as Justin existed. He is compassionate, persistent, fights fair, loves unconditionally, is patient as a saint, and would do absolutely anything for his family. He is a provider, protector, nurturer, and my best friend. I am honored to be his wife and will love him until the day I die. I can't wait to start the next five years honey. I love you.

And...some of the funniest pictures we've ever taken together...
