9 weeks

Holy smokes little boy! You are already 9 weeks old! I can't believe it. I have enjoyed every second of the last 9 weeks and can't believe that in less than 3, I'll have to leave you and return to work. I am working very hard to make sure you are in the best possible care while I'm gone. It's not quite 7am and I'm listening to you make sweet little noises on your baby monitor. You did okay last night, down at 7pm, up at 12 to eat, down at 1, up at 2:30 for paci, up at 4 to eat, and down at 5. I think you're stirring to start your day. I can't wait!

We have a big day and interviewing a few more nanny candidates. I hope one is the perfect fit for us. Just a few highlights from the week...

Yesterday, you were on your playmat and for the first time intentionally (or what I think was intentionally) batted at the toys hanging above you. You were fussy when I first put you down but quickly became engaged with the jungle animals.

You became very chatty this week. Your sounds are very clear and you curl your sweet little lips to change the sounds you're making. I hope to post video of that soon. I just can't get enough of you.

I had to walk away from writing this morning and so far we have had a great day, the highlight for me was snuggling with you in bed for your morning nap. You have been so fun today with lots of talking and the funniest diaper change ever. It involved 4 diapers and lots of high flying urine brought on by toots. Very, very funny!

You fell asleep just a few minutes ago in my arms while I was talking to Britt. I put you on my bed. I'm watching the minutes count down and fighting the urge to come snuggle beside you. All the books would say I'm a bad mommy but all I care about is what you think and at the moment you seem pretty content with life.
