Well Jack, today is your due date. It was a gorgeous day. The sun was shining, it was 60 degrees, and it really feels like fall. There is hardly any humidity and the leaves are gorgeous. Your dad and I spent the day getting things done around the house and running errands. I have really enjoyed getting ready for you over the past week.
Yesterday I went to get a manipedi and enjoyed that so much. Your dad has been tending to his "daddy-do" list which includes hanging pictures, moving boxes, taking things to goodwill, packing the car, washing his car, etc. We are both so excited to meet you.
On Friday, we got our baby wagon, a beautiful Ford Explorer. It is black with navigation, leather interior, heated seats, a third row, and automatic everything. I love it. We are so looking forward to all the long trips we'll take it on to see grandparents, go to the mountains, tailgate, etc. It's just perfect and the first thing we did when we got home was put your car seat in. Now we're all ready for you.
Everyone is coming into town on Monday evening. We're scheduled for an induction on Tuesday. You seem to be taking your time getting here, which is fine with us, but our physician doesn't want you to go too long and it seemed easier to schedule the induction than to have to come back in for frequent checks, ultrasounds, etc. I keep thinking you'll come before Tuesday but that would only leave tomorrow.
Your room is all ready, the house is clean, and we are super excited to meet you. I was in your nursery today while on the phone with grandma. I don't think I'll ever be able to put you in it. It seems too far away from us.
Well that's all for now, I hope you are enjoying your last few days in there. You have the hiccups now and have been stirring all evening. I think you liked the big dinner I made for your dad. We had stuffing (with sausage for your dad's), mashed potatoes and gravy, roasted balsamic brussel sprouts, and apple-cranberry crumble.
I know I'll miss being pregnant with you so I'm trying to just really endulge in every move and wiggle. This has been a very easy pregnancy and really enjoyable for the most part. A little heartburn and nausea in the beginning is nothing to complain about. Your dad has been so wonderful, very encouraging and supportive the entire time. He is really excited for you to be here too. See you Tuesday, hopefully no later than Wednesday little Jack! We love you!
