Fall Fun 2015

The next day we tried to do the pumpkin patch. The rain had other ideas. But we had a great time for as long as we could. Until we had to race back for the car in a torrential down pour!

Jack was such a pro! And he was so brave!! Check out that big boy hair cut! Ella got on the horse for all of two seconds. She really enjoyed feeding the animals though.

Look at the precious babies. They have grown up so much since this picture! Time SLOW DOWN!

When we were young

Here is another blog draft from September of last year, I believe...

Everyone has that night that they remember in high school. That night that defines their youth. You rarely know you're experiencing it while it's happening, and it may not occur to you until years or decades later...but it happens. For me...it was the third eye blind concert my sophomore year of high school. I went with my aunt, sister, and cousin, who I immediately ditched for my friends. I was 15 after all. :) Well, either way, a decade passes and I'm officially old because my favorite high school band is touring again, and, like them, I too like to relive my glory days. And my wonderful husband knows that. So he buys me tickets. Most. Perfect. Husband. Ever.

Mom and Aunt Katie come into town. Mom watches the babes. Aunt Katie attends the concert. She too became a fan after I subjected her to hours of their terrible music while cruising around Jackson in my firebird...and for that, you're welcome ;)

We are STOKED! Two dolled up girls and one heavy metal lover who loves his wife more and is willing to suffer through the drippy, teenage-angst music for me. *Heart flutter* Well...me and the promise of lots and lots of beer.

We arrive, I float in on a cloud.

We find the Ciroc tent and get our evening started. Below is our Empire shot.

A shot of the stage before the magic happens!

And then...the utter disappointment...sheer pain...as my favorite bands front man comes out in a beanie and a skirt. A skirt? Seriously? You are too freaking old for that. Which then, I'm painfully aware, so am I. That was a sad moment. Then I remembered, before the depression set it, they make beer for that. Mind numbing and wonderful beer. The night continued to improve with every purchase.

 It got better...

 And better...

And better...

With the strike of three cords, I was 15 and standing in a field at Fort Gordon again. Except this time, I had no curfew, I could buy beer, and I was going to steal a kiss from my man at the end of the night :)

So, in the end, yes, we all get old. And we all cling desparately to the best memories of our adolescence. The music becomes "classic," (well, not in this case). But for me, while this was one of the most memorable nights of my teen years...the years only get better. The friends and family beside you are treasured more dearly. And the memories you make, are even sweeter!

Where have I been?

Here is a blog draft from last fall that I found... Time continues to move at warp speed and I find less and less time to update. By keeping this blog, I'm able to relive the best parts of my life. I read it and it brings me right back to all the sweet little moments. And there are so many. There isn't a single day I wouldn't relive with these two babies and my wonderful hubby. Life doesn't get any better than this. Let me try to catch up...

Jack is almost 4! How did that happen. We just back from Disney last week, then Hurricane Matthew and Katie's gender reveal! Hope to update all that soon. For now...fall of 2015!

Look at these little faces! How was this last year?!?

Jack had a Thomas magazine that came in the mail. He would go through saying, "Dis one, dis one! Not dat one!"

Princess with her umbrella.

There was a bug at the park...

Jack still into trains. This was the Polar Express train we bought at Thomas's Day out.

Not sure which cookies we were making here, but Ella approved.

The nanny made turkey's with their feet. Check out those GIANT feathers on the right. And at the bottom right, we collected leaves and sent those cards to family.
